何奇通（郭蔼明 饰）是“奇通私家侦探社”的负责人，在一次帮助一名女子搜集她的警察丈夫出轨的证据时，与警察耀祖（郭晋安 饰）相遇了。耀祖处处帮助同事掩饰婚外情，令到奇通对他这种臭男人十分讨厌，认为他也是一路货色。奇通的父亲在她小时候就是因婚外情出走，留下母亲郁郁而终，而奇通也只得在侦探社负责人德叔（秦沛 饰）的照料下长大，所以奇通生平最痛恨出轨的男人。终于奇通完成了任务搜集够了证据，却与耀祖结下了梁子。随后，奇通重遇了中学好友宝怡（汤宝如 饰），更得知宝怡竟是耀祖女友，奇通处处提醒宝怡要提防耀祖，更教她跟踪术，搞得耀祖不胜其烦。一次耀祖因工作需要出入色情场所被奇通拍下了照片，阿怡拿着照片想耀祖质问，令耀祖工作受到了影响，自此他更是讨厌奇通。　　随后阿怡怀上了身孕，准备和耀祖结婚，岂料结婚当日阿怡却突然失踪了。深爱阿怡的耀祖四出寻找，最后因旷工多日被开除出警队。奇通可怜耀祖，觉得自己对他搞成这样也负有一定责任，于是通过德叔邀请耀祖加入他们的侦探社，耀祖一方面想找回未婚妻，一方面迫于生活压力，最终加入了侦探社。于是，他们开始了一段又一段情事缉私档案。

　　Filming has begun on the fourth series of popular Bath-based detective drama McDonald & Dodds, starring Tala Gouveia and BAFTA award-winner Jason Watkins.　　　　Comprising three feature length films (3 x120), the guest cast for the first story includes Toby Stephens (Lost In Space), singer/songwriter Pixie Lott (The Voice Kids), Lydia Leonard (Gentleman Jack), Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe), Dipo Ola (Landscapers), John Gordon Sinclair (Gregory’s Girl) and Ace Bhatti (Line of Duty).　　　　In this first film, McDonald and Dodds begin to investigate when a middle-aged woman is found shot dead in a rented flat. The killer has removed all clues to her identity, but DNA reveals she went missing over 35 years ago. Where has she been all those years? And who with?　　　　Returning to the cast this series are Claire Skinner (Outnumbered) who plays Chief Superintendent Ormond and Charlie Chambers (EastEnders) who plays DC Goldie. Bhavik C. Pankhania (World On Fire) joins the line up as DC Lee.　　　　The series has been commissioned for ITV by Polly Hill and Huw Kennair Jones and will be produced by Joe Shrubb. Executive producers are Robert Murphy, Damien Timmer and Charlotte Webber. The first film is written by Robert Murphy and directed by Khurrum M. 　　《台湾X档桉》（英语：S.S.P.T）2022年中国电视公司八点档连续剧由刘书宏、杨雅筑、王上菲、朱宇谋、张瀚元、优妮领衔主演。本剧于2021年12月22日举行开镜仪式。2022年8月16日举行卡司发布会。中视主频于9月14日首播，中天娱乐台则9月15日播出，该剧演员也为这部戏练习拳脚功夫，台湾OTT由LiTV 线上影视同步跟播上架。本剧以真人真事改编，单元连续形式播出，不同于一般的刑侦剧，带有玄幻、不可思议的元素。
